Schwemmalm hiking area
A particular highlight is the Schwemmalm hiking area, located above the village of Kuppelwies. It is considered one of South Tyrol’s most traditional and authentic alpine regions. Typical features include the rustic huts made of sun-weathered larch wood, where hosts serve traditional specialities from the Ultental.
The area can be reached comfortably in just a few minutes via the cable car from Kuppelwies. Easy and moderately difficult hiking trails start directly at the mountain station, making it ideal for families. The paths lead through dense forests, across natural flower meadows, up to clear mountain lakes and rewarding panoramic peaks. Families particularly appreciate the pushchair-friendly circular trail and the small adventure pond that provides fun and entertainment for children.
